Chairman Wydysh Says Paint Recycling Event a Huge Success

Niagara County Legislature Chairman Becky Wydysh said Saturday's paint recycling event at Niagara University was a tremendous success.

"This was our first drop-off event for just paint, and the turnout exceeded our expectations," said Wydysh. "Nearly 650 vehicles came through our line and we collected about 40 tons of paint."

Wydysh thanked the county's partners for the event, Niagara University and GreenSheen, and acknowledged the work of the county's Environmental Division, which coordinated the effort.

"I am grateful for all the behind-the-scenes preparation and promotion that our partners and our team put into this," said Wydysh. "And I want to thank residents who took the time to recycle the paint rather than just toss it into the garbage and ultimately a landfill. This is a small but important way we can all do our part."

Wydysh also encouraged residents to visit www.rethinkyourwaste.com to see the calendar for other upcoming events.
